Japan is a good country for travel, education, work or even business for Indians. Many Indians are staying in Japan since a long time. When some Indian passport holders are staying in Japan for more than six (06) months and require Police Clearance Certificate (PCC), then they have to obtain it from there only. No Criminal Record Certificate (NCR) or Police Clearance Certificate (PCC) is a vital record as far as someone’s legal background is concerned. Japan is an HCC Country as such the PCC Apostille from MEA, Govt. of India is needed.
When an Indian holding a passport issued in India and staying in Japan for more than six months then they are eligible to obtain a Police Clearance Certificate (PCC) or No Criminal Record Certificate from two sources. Someone can get it from the Government of Japan or from the Embassy / Diplomatic Mission of India in Japan. If the PCC has issued by Govt. of Japan and needs to use in Japan, then there is no requirement of any Attestation of Apostille.
On the other hand, if the Police Clearance Certificate / PCC has issued from Indian High Commission / Diplomatic Mission of India in Japan, then it will Apostille from India for use in Japan or any HCC Country further. The Indian Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MoFA), Japan issued PCC Apostille will complete by Ministry of External Affairs (MEA), Government of India in Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai, Kolkata, Hyderabad, Bangalore, Chandigarh, Guwahati centres in India.
